Mirror's mission is that through broad-based partnerships, we will provide substance abuse, correctional, and other community health and human services to people in need.
Mirror, Inc. was established as a not-for-profit, private corporation under the laws of Kansas on March 17, 1972. Mirror is clearly a leader in the addiction field and this is evidenced by the agency’s growth to a multiple site, statewide service organization. We are currently providing both substance abuse treatment, as well as community correctional residential programs in five Kansas cities and outpatient services in eight Kansas locations.
Our substance abuse treatment approach is that chemical dependency is an illness. The course of this illness is predictable and progressive. The disease is primary, not just a symptom of other underlying disorders. It is terminal and, if left unarrested, it is 100% fatal. Although there is no cure, the disease is treatable and can be arrested.
Mirror's Community Resource Library’s, located at our corporate facility, is open to the public. Its mission is to provide prevention education and materials that will assist communities in creating conditions and developing personal skills that reduce the abuse of alcohol and other drugs. This is accomplished by taking a pro-active stance and by emphasizing zero tolerance of illegal drug use by all people and zero tolerance of the use of alcohol and tobacco by youth.
